Zen-Journal’s Mindfulness Training Program
Type A executive and managers serve a purpose in your organization, but too often their support staff get lost in their overall agenda. Zen-Journal’s approach to supporting this vital population is to first through education around personality types and then introduce specific mindfulness practices that help to alleviate stress responses, lead to greater clarity and focus, and encourage more engagement with their job.
My Own Experience with Type A Bosses
For a decade, I was a Technical Proposal Manager for a large heavy civil construction company and traveled extensively as part of my job. I worked with a good many Type A bosses. While some were more toxic than others, all were more focused on ethic own agenda than they the welfare of their support staff.
As a seasoned practitioner of mindfulness for many years, and author of a book touching on mindfulness and meditation I bring a unique and empathetic approach to helping your employees build the inner strength they need to stay engaged, focused, and healthy. Over the years, I applied mindfulness and meditation principles of Zen Buddhism to prevent burnout and to help me deal with several Type A personalities and it’s these practices that I teach in my workshops.
I’ve found that most mindfulness practices can be done in a car, at a desk, and at home. Over a 30-day period, many of my students report greater job satisfaction and an overall more positive attitude toward life in general.
Options for Getting Zen-Journal On-Site
I can to come to your campus location and work with groups of 5-20 support staff at a time.
I offer two half-day workshops that include materials, brief presentations, periods of practice, and Q&A sessions. The initial session can occur any time, with the second session in 15 to 30 days to address questions and to take their developing mindful practices deeper. In the first session, one of the aims is for participants to form partnerships within the firm, often with other support staff in different departments. This serves to reinforce employee connectivity and assists with interpersonal relationships between departments.
